Users
Create user
New users start as members. A temporary password is generated automatically and emailed to them along with their login details — they must change it at first login.
Invite users
Sets a new one-time password for each person and forces a change at first login. Email it, or take the details and send them yourself — over Slack, for instance. You are never included.
Teams
A team groups people for reporting — the Directors summary rolls time up by team. Each team has one lead.
Integrations
Jira Cloud
API tokens are created at id.atlassian.com → Security → API tokens. The token is tested live, stored encrypted, and never shown again.
Import time from Jira worklogs
Pulls worklogs you logged directly in Jira into Pulse. Read-only and de-duplicated on the worklog id, so it's safe to run repeatedly and never double-counts.
Import from a spreadsheet (Excel / CSV)
Upload an .xlsx or .csv export (max 3 MB, 5000 rows, first sheet). Columns are matched automatically — adjust the mapping, then import. Rows that are duplicates of existing entries (same person, times and description) are skipped, so re-uploading a file never double-counts.

Each code works exactly once if you lose your authenticator. Store them safely (password manager or printed in a safe).

Organisation-wide settings and admin-only tools. Each section loads when you open it. People, permission groups, deactivation and password resets live under Organisation → Users; teams under Organisation → Teams.
Field schema The columns on entries, the timesheet, reports and exports
Applies to everyone. Jira-linked entries pull a field from Jira via its "Jira field id"; "Input" controls what everyone else sees: text box, dropdown (options comma-separated) or nothing.
Public holidays Office calendars (South Africa, Hessen) and who is on which
On every public holiday that falls on a weekday, Pulse books 8 hours for each assigned person (Master ID / Work Category Public holiday), shown in orange on reports. Deleting a booked holiday entry is permanent — it is not re-created.
